Based upon feedback from our customers we have added the ability to schedule the availability of your custom courses. This allows you to plan your classes in advance while making only the relevant learning materials available at any one time.
This new feature is available when creating a new custom course or while editing an existing course you have already created. Simply clickand set your From and Until dates to restrict the timeframe in which the course can be accessed by students.
FAQ
Q) Can I tell if a course has scheduled availability set?
A) Yes, when you view the course the title in the selection box will state the availability in brackets.
e.g.
Course available until 25th December - Course Title (<25 Dec)
Course available between 1st November and 15th December - Course Title (1 Nov-15 Dec)
Q) My course is used by other staff members, will their classes be impacted if I set a schedule?
A) Yes, it is important to be aware of the impact to other colleagues if you have the "Visible to all staff" option ticked. Remember you can always create a copy of the course and then apply a schedule to the copied version.
Q) Can I apply a schedule to one of the default courses?
A) No, only custom courses can have a schedule applied however it is possible to create a custom copy of any course on ClassAct II. Simply select the course as a template to create your own version.
Q) Will students be able to see the course if it is outside of the scheduled availability?
A) Yes, the course will be visible to students however the learning content will be greyed out and not able to be viewed until the release date/time. If an end date/time has been set then the content will be available in review mode, allowing the student to review their assessments but restricting further changes, once the course has expired.
