Why doesn't my Hybrid panel respond? Only the blue LEDs work.

This is a common question and isn't a fault, just an incorrect setting on the panel. In the centre of the test point area of the panel you will find a 12V disconnect switch. This represents disconnecting the 12V battery from the vehicle and will leave it totally immobilised when disconnected. Flick the switch the other way and you should be up and running again.

I've launched the application from the learning content but can't control the Hybrid Panel from my PC. Am I doing something wrong?

There are two versions of the Hybrid Vehicle Systems software. The version contained within the learning content is for simulation only. To control the hardware you will need to install the Virtual Hybrid Software which was supplied with your trainer.

This may have been on CD or more recently downloaded using one of our resource access certificates. In both cases you will require your licence key which is found on a yellow sticker on either the CD case or certificate.

How do I change from imperial to metric units?

The display on your trainer is touch sensitive. Simply touch the speedometer display to swap between mph and kph. To swap temperature units between °C and °F touch the temperature readings.

How to I scroll through the functions of the trip computer?

Just touch the bottom right corner of the display to toggle the trip computer functions.

I've got a fault code showing but there are no faults set. What does this mean?

Some of the functions of the panel trainer can cause a fault code to be shown even if a fault hasn't been set on the fault panel. This isn't a problem with the panel and represents what you would expect to see on a real vehicle in these circumstances.

To resolve this check the following disconnect switches to ensure that the corresponding component hasn't been disconnected;

  • Fuel Level Sensor
  • Cooling Fan
  • Water Pump

The blue LED's are flashing/flickering on my Hybrid trainer and it won't function correctly. What might the problem be?

These symptoms point towards a power supply issue. We supply a number of 12V power supplies with our trainers which at first glance seem identical but actually have different current ratings. The hybrid panel requires a 5A supply so if you are experiencing problems please check that the supply hasn't been swapped with another unit and it shows the correct 12V, 5A output rating.
