How many software licences do I get per teaching set?
Each STEP 7 teaching set contains one single user licence for the TIA Portal software.
I need more than one licence per PLC, can you help?
We can supply additional software licences. Please contact a member of the sales team or raise a support ticket for pricing information.
Can I move the licence to another PC?
Yes, this is a simple procedure covered by this guide.
I need to re-install the PC, what should I do?
It is important that you remove the licence from the PC before going any further. To do this you will need the original USB stick that came with your software. Follow the steps in this guide to perform the transfer using the Automation License Manager application.
HELP! I've lost my TIA Portal licence(s)!
Please raise a support ticket to allow us to help you further with this. You will need your original USB sticks and your software certificates (attached to the software boxes). As this is third party software we can't guarantee that your licences will be restored and unfortunately we are unable to assist if you do not have the original USB sticks and/or software licences.
I use a software image, can I add the TIA Portal software to it?
Yes, you can add the TIA Portal to a software image and install across your network. Only licensed versions of the software will be usable after the initial trial period has elapsed.
Do I need to install the licence file on a server?
No, there are two options for licence installation. The easiest solution is to licence the TIA Portal software manually. To do this you need the licence file on the USB stick that came with your TIA Portal software. Run the Automation License Manager application and follow the steps in this guide.
Alternatively licences can be installed onto a server and then allocated automatically when the software is run.
