The Mechanisms Trainer should be placed on a work surface with enough space to the right of the trainer to perform experiments with the ramp positioned at the lowest mounting point position.

1. Fix the long mounting post to the slot in the rear panel.

2. Connect the rear panel to the base unit. The rear panel markings should be on the base unit side.

3. Plug in the limit switch lead.

4. Plug in the power adapter lead to the power socket

5. Connect the power adapter to the main power supply. If your power adapter has output voltage adjustment, ensure that the polarity is set to positive on the centre pin and the output is set to 12V.

6. Place the safety guard on the trainer. The trainer will not work unless the safety guard is located on the trainer correctly.

7. Ensure all parts are stored on the Mechanisms Trainer, as identified in the following illustrations.

8. The valve has to be fastened to the base unit of the Mechanisms Trainer. You can remove it to give you more space. If you do remove it, make sure you fasten it back to the base unit afterwards.
